Know all men by these presents that I Archibald W. Thompson of Louisa County Virginia, for and in the consideration of the natural love and affection which I bear to my children, to wit, Mary J. Thompson, George R. Thompson, Francess A. Thompson, and Andrew J. Thompson of said County & State as well as for the further consideration of one dollar to me in hand by each of the aforesaid children, at or before the unsealing and delivery of these presents, the receipts whereof is hereby acknowledged. Have given & granted, and by these presents, do give and grant unto the said Mary Jane Thompson, George R. Thompson, Francess A. Thompson, and Andrew J. Thompson. Their executors admin. and afsigns right title and interest in and to one negro girl Matilda and man Ben, and also all my right, title, claim, or claims in and to my dec.d Father Richard W. Thompsons Estate and also my mother, Mary Thompson's Estate both that which she has now in her pofsefsion and that which may hereafter come into her pofsefsion - and also two feather beds bedsteads and furniture, one cow & calf, one ox and yearling. To have and to hold the said Negroes and all the other properties and claims herein named unto them, the aforsaid Mary J. Thompson, George R. Thompson, Francefs A. Thompson and Andrew J. Thompson. Their executors admin. and afsigns forever. And the said Archibald W. Thompson, his executors admin. and against the claim or claims of all and every known persons whatsoever shall and will warrant and forever defend by these presents. In witness whereof I hereinto set my hand and seal this 7th day of October 1842.

The foregoing Deed of Gift was this day in the said office acknowledged by Archibald W. Thompson to be his act and deed and thereupon admitted to record.
